Hi Brian,
I have the exact same issue with my Nekton sub.  I have limited access, but I plan to pour paint inside the mbt and roll the sub so the paint can coat where I have welded.

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] hard tank

Hi All,
Very jealous I can't make it to the convention ;-)  !!   I'm going to have a hard ballast tank which will be approx 21" in diameter by 36" long.  I don't  really need to access the inside of the tank and I was wondering how I could seal the inside somehow.  Some type of epoxy coating.  But once I do any welding it will desrtoy any coating.  Any ideas ?

Thanks,    Brian
