Brian,
That is a critical issue.  Brent does suggest that threaded bolts be used
rather than bare wire. There has been other discussions about water creep
through broken wire insulation.  Bonding the epoxy to the insulation would
be critical or using a more pliable compound rather than epoxy that is
squeezed tighter under pressure to increase its resiliency to water creep.

               Isn't there an issue with water migrating down that round
wire like that ?   Also I'm looking for a good co-ax thru hull design.
