It's neet, but the problem with compressed air motors and submarines is
that the efficency goes down as the sub goes down.  I.e. the deeper (the
higher the external pressure), the less work the compressed air able to
do.

Also, if I'm remembering correctly.  The key to a good compressed air
motor isn't really the engine, but the fact the compressed air is chilled.
This counters the problem of power loss when part of the compressed
air is used up (e.g. when the flask is at half pressue).  A volume of
chilled compressed air is measured out from the main flash by a
relatively low pressure regulator, then warmed so it expands.  Providing
the cyclinder has more pressure than the low(er) pressure expansion
chamber requires to operate, the motor can run without any power loss.
