Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] compressed air motor
Hello
The idea of compressed air motor is not new and it is
nice. Pneumatic cars are more safe than gasoline cars
for many reasons. For submarines a compresed air
motor it is not very usefull there were some examples
of this the Plongeur as far as I remember but it was
not controlable and for military use not worthy
because you can detect it anytime from the surface by
only loking were the bubbles are, the same way you
check were divers are from the transport boat.
But interesting can be the compressor of the car.
Most submarines need compressed air to blow their
tanks and an economical strong electric compressor is
very valuable specially for P subbers. With 300 bar
you can blow almost any diving tank if you are not
using a deep sea submersible.
Do someone have some more details about the compressor
hea are using on their cars?
Best wishes
Jürgen
