Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] link

Thanks for that info NP.

I will look them up and give them a call. It would be great if they have exactly what I am looking for.
You wouldn't have their link would you?
Thanks again.
Bill Akins.

Bill,
Silent Submersion scooters incorporates exactly the type of throttle your looking for. Rodney Nairen is the owner designer, and lives in Florida.
Cheers,

Gee Bill... sounds like you could start your own side business making some of these.  ;-)

I'm still trying to find a site that has VARIABLE speed controllers that are both WATERPROOF and PRESSUREPROOF for use in my wetsub.
So far no luck. Something like a motorcycle twist grip with a "dead mans" return spring would be nice, or even a simple grip lever like a motorcycle brake lever,
but at this point I would consider ANY waterproof and pressureproof variable speed switch. I may have to make one out of a light dimmer switch and pvc pipe but
it sure would be nice to just be able to buy something for a change instead of having to make everything. If any of you find something like this, please let me know.
I have searched and searched without any result. I even checked with Honeywell electronics and talked with their main variable speed switch tech, but he was unable
to locate both a waterproof and pressureproof variable switch for me, he did have lots of variable speed switches that were water "resistant" but that wouldn't do under
pressure. And yes we DID look at all his magnetic proximity switches. I could use one of them, but they are not VARIABLE in speed.
Somebody needs to manufacture a magnetic proximity, variable speed motor switch, that is both waterproof and pressureproof for wetsubbers and DPV's in general.
DPV scooters have magnetic proximity switches. Mine has one too. But they are not variable. My scooter has two switches, one for 2 mph and then I squeeze the other
one at the same time for 3 mph. But that is not variable from zero to full power. That is just on or off with another switch giving me 1 extra mph of power.
Of course if I wasn't looking for the darn thing I would see it everywhere I looked. Grin, Sigh.
