Bill,
Ditto on the cockpit bubble! You remember my far fetched fantasies don't you? A little dose of reality though and this is the result.
Octopus was actually an Electric Boat vessel in competition with Lake. In fact, she was the first boat designed after Hollands departure (possibly muscled out) from EB.
The scope and snorkel will operate as fixed masts. However, they may have to fold for trailering, the key consideration being road height. I think my Chris Craft was about 9 or 10' on her trailer.
Thanks again
Joe

Yes, I very much like your design too Joe. It's too bad though that you had to make the cockpit air bubble so small because of buoyancy considerations.I know you really wanted one much bigger originally when you were first starting to design it. She does look great though. I'm eager to see more pics of thedesign when you get them done and posted. I like the victorian era look. Kind of Simon Lake looking. I love Simon's subs. He never has been given therecognition he deserves by the general public. But we subbers know his contributions. One question. Will your periscope with the attached camerabe telescopic or a fixed non telescoping mast?Bill Akins.----- Original Message -----From: Paul KreemerSent: Thursday, February 09, 2006 4:26 PMSubject: Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] CAD Model Done!Nice exterior design Joe! I like the early 20th century look. And those masts are good for stringing wireless aerials. :-) These ambient designs with compound curves gives a pretty sophisticated looking hull.
