Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Hull Shaping Question
My sub design is for a dry 1 atm sub. I only
mentioned the shallow water (200') issue so everyone
would know that I would not be attempting to dive it
to greater pressure depths.
At this point I am looking to build the main pressure
hull out of .25" aluminum alloy, and the tapered nose
out of 3/5" aluminum alloy (thicker to compensate for
bend/stretching; Thanks for the tip, Carsten!). I am
compiling the specs to survive a depth of 400', even
though the Colorado River (where it will be used) has
a max depth of about 200'.
