Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Karl Stanley's Idabel

Hi Bill,

No, he still has C-BUG for sale.  It was sitting on the beach a couple of doors down from Idabel.  Even though his website has it listed for $50,000, he told me he had lowered the price to $25,000.

Hi Al.

How unfortunate. Hope you get the chance to dive with him again. Has he sold his unpowered glider sub "Sea Bug" yet?

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Karl Stanley's Idabel

Hi all!

I just got back from a dive vacation down in Roatan, Honduras at Anthony's Key Resort.  While I was down there, one thing on my list of things to do was pay a visit to Karl Stanley to see his sub Idabel.  For those who aren't familiar with Karl, visit his website at http://www.stanleysubmarines.com . He is on his second homebuilt sub that he sells rides on to depths of up to 2200 ft.  Unfortunately I had limited time to visit with Karl since I waited till my last day and had a taxi waiting for me.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that Karl was a really nice guy and was more than willing to talk about his sub.  When he found out I was from PSUBS, he suggested we go out to dinner that night and also offered me a ride in his sub.  Unfortunately, since I waited till the last moment to visit him, I didn't have the time in my schedule to accommodate.  I got a chance to take some pictures of his sub that I will post to PSUBS sometime in the future.  I promised Karl that I would definitely make more time to visit with him the next time I'm in Roatan which is a superb place for a dive vacation since it is reasonably priced and has excellent diving.

Karl was more than familar with psubs.org so he must follow this forum somewhat.  I just want to thank Karl for his hospitality and will definately make more time for him on my next trip!
