Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Karl Stanley's Idabel

Hi Al.

Wow! Only $25,000 for Sea Bug is a good price. I'm susprised he will even sell her considering she was his first labor of love. I wouldn't sell her if it was me.
Sea Bug is the unusual gliding non powered sub that made Karl famous and got him in the news. She has redundant systems all over. Multiple ballast tanks where
any one tank will enable the sub to surface. For some of our members, rather than trying to build a new sub with all the costs, time and labor and frustration involved,
$25.000 for Karl's 1 atm historical gliding sub is not a bad alternative. I read somewhere that Karl had contemplated putting a small motor on it, had one available, or something about
him doing something with a motor on it. Did he ever install any kind of motor that you know of?

Hi Bill,

No, he still has C-BUG for sale.  It was sitting on the beach a couple of doors down from Idabel.  Even though his website has it listed for $50,000, he told me he had lowered the price to $25,000.
