Sphere failure - I'm not a one-atm kind of guy - I don't swing that way ;-)
HOWEVER, since reinventing the wheel was never my strong suit, I'd consider
enquiring into what the pros have already done.
Determine your operating depth, and, using Busby (et al.) to find a sub with
a similar depth capability, use whatever hull material and thickness they've
used to build YOUR pressure hull with.
Mind you, that takes all the fun out of it I suppose. I'm as goal oriented
as I am process oriented, so . . . to get a boat into the water is my
priority, to boldly go where . . .
