Looks like we may be bringing a small Whaler-style boat with a 50 HP engine to the convention.  My brother should be checking it out in the next few days to make sure it is operational.  Will also bring 2 or 3 kayaks.  Will be driving up from the Atlantic City area and would be willing to meet up with anyone else along the way to caravan in.

Respectfully,

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] surface support at the convention

Hi all,

This message is directed to those planning to attend the convention without submarines. I'm wondering how many people might be planning on:

- Bringing their SCUBA gear

- Bringing a boat or renting one at the lake.

One can rent boats from http://www.7pointsmarina.com/, or http://www.raystownresort.com/marina.htm, and probably some other smaller places. Seven Points Marina has the advantage of being located right where we'll be launching and diving the subs. It would make sense for people to club together and reserve a support vessel as a group, with the ideal boat probably being a party barge. Does anyone want to volunteer to be a rental captain and recruit a crew to share in the fun and spread the cost? If I'm being supported by such a crew, I certainly don't mind chipping in to share the cost of a rental, but would not want to be the captain of two vessels simultaneously.

thanks,

Alec
