[PSUBS-MAILIST] looking for info on sub Cetacean?
Hello fellow Psubbers:
I was reading the Dec. 1955 issue of Popular Mechancis and came across a 2 page article on the 40' sub Cetacean design and built by Edmund Martine. It has some original design features including having its 4,000 lbs of battries stored in two large, fat legs that extended down from the hull and had wheels to assist in the sub's launching from a regular boat ramp. Martine built diving bells in the 30's-40's for sea coast resorts, evidently.
Anyone know anything more about this submarine and its inventor. I tried Googling it but came up empty?
Cheers,
John Gaertner
