Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Kort nozzles
Carsten's method seems the best and most
"professional" or maybe I should say closest to
"commercial" quality to me.
A simple round loop, then radially sweep the I.D. with
a cross-section of desired "foil" shape. The metal
loop on the outside is perfect for mounting of the
nozzle and offers protection. If your nozzles are
small enough O.D., maybe use a pipe section - even
easier.
I'd make a jig to let me sweep it radially:
Fabricate and mount the ring, then make and attach a
plate where the motor would mount, and have a bronze
bushing in the center- exactly where the motor shaft
would go. (this is instead of using the actual motor
shaft)
Then you could put a piece of round stock in the
bushing (again to mimic the motor shaft) and mount an
indicator to it & roatate the indicator around,
checking the inside of the ring for concentricity and
make any required adjustments.
Then you know the ring is concentric the the C/L of
the shaft.
Then use the same shaft and make a jig to hold your
profile section. You can rotate the shaft with the
section and when it sweeps your profile around, it
will be perfect. It can fix small roundness
imperfections of the ring also.
The metal band on the outside would be strong and
stiff, offer protection and good mounting surface.
