Some very good ideas here. I have considered the same use for an innertube.
It can be filled and de-flated from inside the sub, adds floatation, and is
easily and cheaply replaced. I'm thinking of a tube from a farm tractor. About
60 inch inside diameter, heavy rubber, cost at about $35 each. Lots of
floatation here, and squashes flat when submerged.....Frank
