I've found a lot of water well pumps that are water compensated, which is understandable due to potential for contaminations to drinking water.

Another non-sub related trivia.... Molten glass DOES conduct electricity quite well. In fact they use electrodes in the glass with current running between them to keep glass molten at the glass factory near me.
