RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Re: New website for Manned Underwater Vehicles
It's braided, but it's no nylon. Can you imagine 1/8th nylon
holding together with 1,000 lbs on it? I believe it might have been Dacron.
Doesn't feel stretchy like nylon either.
MTS is a professional society that I have belonged to for a long
time. You can get lots of research data from them, but there isn't anything
that I know of about little stuff like ours. I always felt like George was
getting the short end of the stick. I mean, hell's bells, the man built FORTY
something submarines!!! And sold plans for a hundred more. You'd think somebody
like that would get some credit from the big boys, wouldn't you?

It seems to
be geared more for serious research submersibles, than personal ones. I
looked at their 2006 convention itineary and it looks like they get some
impressive people to attend and speak.

The database
doesn't seem to have a section for "Homebuilt" or
"Personal".
