Thanks Alec. Changes in salinity and density do occur, but you're
right....not much change.
I've heard of salty layers in the ocean where the density change is
noticeable, like places where fresh water is pouring into the ocean at
river mouths or glacial melt, and sometimes pockets of really salty
water not mixing with surrounding water.
A small trim tank of say 10 gallons should be enough to adjust for any
differences encountered during a dive. The main adjustment must be made in
static ballast ( lead weights ) before you go down.
I would think two trim tanks to shift weight front to back would be better
than one, or maybe moving your drop weight a little would be easier.
