James, try this test with a large pickle jar if you can.  Install the reg
with the mouthpiece on the inside of the jar.  Put a depth gauge inside by
the way so you can see through the glass and read the gauge.  It should
perform as described by the other list members.

Your question is the whole basis of my sub-to-be Magical Child, except I'm
compensating the entire cockpit this way.
