Jay, stop being a fun thief. Ya know, like the kid that sees another kid making a nice big sand castle, and runs over and jumps all over it, then points there finger at you and laughs hysterically. I've asked you so many times, in so many different ways, to take a chill pill, and enjoy the information exchange process. So get down off your high horse, and start getting dirty with the rest of us, and build your own sub. We have as a group discussed double O-rings in the past, but the Deep Flight Challenger information was very new to most of us, and likely to you as well. So it was a proper time to bring it up again, and enjoy the thoughts of other members about it. Also since we have new people joining all the time, even if we, god forbid, talk about some thing we have in the past, they will likely learn from it, and very possibly have a totally new wonderful solution to the problem. Of course the existing members might come up with some thing new as well. Do you have any reason to believe that Hawkes and some of his team, are not proper submarine engineers? It's just a wild guess but, I'll bet Hawkes has designed and built more successful submarines from the ground up then you Jay. If I was really that sensitive of a person, I wouldn't have the will to confront you. I don't want to live in a vacuum of information, which is why if here, and fighting to keep this group open minded. Sorry guys, but I've had a gut full of the very negative path Jay has chosen. I've learned a fair bit from Jay, but he chooses to make it much harder then it needs to be. Your resident fun thief resister Regards, Brent Hartwig From: bottomgun@mindspring.com To: personal_submersibles@psubs.org Subject: RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Deep Flight Challengers Interior Date: Tue, 2 Sep 2008 06:19:31 -0400 Brent, Just because someone else has done it doesn’t it make it right from an engineering standpoint. How many people have to tell you that it is a bad idea every few months when you bring it up.
Then there is another example ! of a double
O-ring used in the hatch of the Great Lakes Sub, w! ith larg e O-rings that
keep the metal surfaces apart during normal diving ops. Some people have built their
PSUBs in a vacuum of information and go about things different once informed
when they build another sub. Respectfully, Jay K. Jeffries Andros Is., Bahamas
