You have to be careful with this method as most gages are set up as
differential gages and sense atmospheric pressure as the other pressure.
Thus a regular gage will not see any difference between the sensing tube and the
ambient around the gage. As an additional note, you can get gages that are
marked in feet seawater and will sense just about any depth you want…you
just need to insure that they are PSI Absolute (psia) and not PSI Gage (psig).

Jens,
Please explain further as this watch would be difficult to read on my
wrist or in very low light levels. I do not feel that any body of water in this
State is deeper than 40 feet so this would work out great.
