Here is a pondering thought...
 
   In my own mind, I feel that bow planes are more effective at controlling a boats trim, therefore faster at controllong it's dive angle. When worked with the stern planes, these together should provide better depth control even at shallower depths...
 
   but does anyone know if using both bow planes and fairwater planes has been used in conjunction with each other?
 
   If done in properly, these would not add greatly to the overall drag signature of the boat, but should better control the ships trim angle while aiding in adjusting for minor depth changes as well.
