Sorry. I meant to respond earlier and got caught with other things. An open water diving certification should be all that's required. Most of us here are certified divers in that category. Al Secor, Lea Nichols, and some others have much more extensive experience I think, but for what we are doing in the depths we're looking a technical diving cert (if that's what you are thinking) is not necessary. Obviously, the more experience you have, the better.
