Yesterday I found the following section (part of the Alvin Operations
Manual) on the

** Phil's Deep Workers have the same ability. I believe there is a hydraulic
** operated "catch" mechanism and  "cable cutter" device that cuts the hull
** section loose from the battery pods and other equipment so just the hull
