[PSUBS-MAILIST] Copper Washers...
Hi All,
I've been working on some of my plumbing today and have come across something i think could be an issue.
Ive fitted 2 pressure gauges to read depth and also the variable tank. These items have pipe adapters to connect them up. The adapters are BSP parallel threads, sealed with a copper washer. The one on the variable tank is a Swagelok adapter and the others are Parker fittings. Both Parker and Swagelok told me to use copper washers.
But thinking about it, it seems like a bit of a daft idea. Both pipes will have seawater running through them. Copper\Stainless\Seawater. Not a good idea?
Is this going to be an issue? It doesnt sound right to me. What else could\should I use as the seal?
Many thanks
James
