Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] concept sketch
The foreword chamber on the starboard side, this would be the lockout
chamber? Why would you have an observational blister to the outside there?
Great modeling, what did you use to model?

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] concept sketch
I just uploaded a sketch of my submarine concept to my website, if anyone
cares to take a look. The basic idea behind this one is that it is a large
sub (not really psub material, unless you have really deep pockets) - large
enough to operate without a large surface support ship for launch and
recovery - hopefully reducing operating cost, but still small enough that
it can be moored anywhere that can accomodate large yachts or commercial
fishing vessels. A novel feature are the dual forward viewing bubbles
which are oriented in sight of each other - allowing divers in the chamber
to communicate visually with crew in the other compartment. This design
takes a good chunk out of the bow profile, wreaking havoc with
streamlining; however, by changing the formerly elliptical bow lines to a
circular profile, as the drawing shows, it becomes possible to have a
shield that rotates into position from either side to protect the windows
and correct the hull profile for high speed cruising. Thoughts?
