Wow! I had no idea that marine aluminum was that expensive. I also had
no idea there was a difference between marine aluminum and any other
aluminum (perhaps density of the aluminium? remember I'm new to this)
My father is the superintendent of a steel warehouse (Central Steel
and Wire Co.; www.centralsteel.com) so I reap benefits such as
employee discounts and free scrap. This could be a major factor of the
overall cost. Unfortunately he retires in 7 years so I may be out of
luck since I'm a broke college student unable to purchase materials.
