Fascinating read Thomas..thank you. I noted in one of the pictures what appears reminiscent of the thermal tiles on a shuttle. Knowing zero about military subs, I am assuming these are acoustic related in some manner.
I found the nose cone mounting ring something of particular interest for me with regard to a psub modification I am contemplating...a good lead...thanks again.
The author in one of the posts, (if I read him correctly), eludes to the loss of Scorpion being as a result of a cold war encounter in mid ocean with a soviet sub (supposedly also lost), rather than resulting from a "hot run" torpedo. Is there any truth to this...or is this conspiracy theory bobo nonsense?
