RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Interphase Vista

Caution, it has no transducer. Greg Cottrell has an Interphase he got
minus transducer and has been patiently waiting a year or two hoping one
would show up on eBay some day, because the transducer goes for some
exorbitant amount as a spare.

That said, the Vista is a discontinued model so if a whole unit does
show up it should be quite cheap.

Nice work David!

I have a couple questions about the repair, and a couple comments about
the device. In regards to the repair, can you provide more detail on
what the problem was as well as the solution. Your description did not
say what you did with the shielding of the individual nine wires. Some
photos would speak volumes here. As I understand it, the "cable"
consists of nine individual wires. Eight wires are both insulated and
shielded. The ninth wire is bare. All wires were cut, including the
shielding. You reconnected all the insulated wires with in-line crimps
(I assume you mean a solderless butt connector), and you reconnected the
non-insulated wire with a butt-connector. How then did you handle the
foil shielding for each individual wire?
