Jens, can I collaborate with you on what I'm doing
so that I'm compatable with your unit, or what
I'm doing won't be too hard to adjust to on your
unit?
I'm stringing 10 x 1k resisters together in series
in an arc shape, with 2cm of braided copper wire running parralel
off
each join. Soldered on the end of this wire is a
small peice of metal. The metal is sitting on a peice of fridge magnet
material.
Above it is a copper track glued to the underside
of the acrylic pressure housing.
A wire is attached to the beginning of the copper
track & another off the end of the resisters.
As a powerful enough magnet sweeps over the outer
housing the
metal lifts & makes contact with the copper track completing a circuit.
As the large magnet continues its sweep it picks up
the next peice of metal & drops the previous
forming another circuit of 1k less resistance.
So I will start with 10k of resistance & end
with zero, wich is 11 increments. Was thinking that this would be good as we
could have a different
coloured central LED on your display showing centre
of travel & 5 increments either side.
What are your thoughts?
Alan
